Use 80% and 100% alerts
Kinsta plans include allowances for visits or server bandwidth, SSD storage, and CDN bandwidth. The documentation describes alerts at 80% and 100% of plan usage.

Alerts and upgrade timing
Plan-limit notifications are enabled by default and are sent at 80% and 100% usage. Visit-based plans also document a notification when usage exceeds the allowance by 10%. An upgrade is not applied retroactively, so overages incurred before the change remain billable.
How to estimate overage cost
- 1.Review three to six months of visits, bandwidth, and storage.
- 2.Add expected growth from campaigns and seasonal peaks.
- 3.Multiply the expected excess by the documented rate.
- 4.Compare the result with the next plan’s price difference.
- 5.Evaluate caching, CDN, image optimization, and file cleanup.

Does Kinsta stop a site at the limit?
The normal policy is to keep sites running and charge overages, although extreme overages or payment issues can lead to restrictions.
Does upgrading remove earlier overages?
No. The upgrade is not retroactive.
